Frequently Asked Questions
What if I can’t set up my project on the Friday Registration Night? Can I set up Saturday morning before the opening ceremonies begin?
Each exhibitor participant in the NRSEF will set up and remove his/her exhibit during the respective times which can be found on the “Important Dates” page. The check-in, setup, safety/regulation check will take place Friday of the Fair. To receive a safety/regulation inspection every component of the display must be in-place. In order for a complete review of all project components this must be done on the Friday. Failure to meet the rules or correct safety violations may result in disqualification.
I cannot attend the Open House on the Sunday of the Fair. Can I take my project home with me on Saturday after I get judged?
No item(s) can be removed from the display until the closing of the Fair on Sunday afternoon. Media representatives are invited to come to our Open House on Sunday to take pictures of projects and interview participants so all projects must remain in place. Failure to meet the rules may result in disqualification.
What happens if my project is bigger than the space allowed?
All exhibits, including all accessories, must be confined to a table or floor space not to exceed 80cm front to back, 120cm side to side, and 250cm maximum height from the floor. All measurements will be made from the outermost points including framework and appendages and will be checked by the NRSEF Rules, Regulations, and Ethics Committee. Special permission must be obtained for oversized exhibits when registering for the NRSEF. Exhibits not receiving this prior approval will be disqualified.
I am bringing my laptop on Saturday. Will I be able to get onto the internet at the hosting facilities?
No. Participants will not be able to access the host facility wireless network.
My project requires electricity to run. Will I be able to plug my project in?
You must request electricity during online registration. Construction of exhibits must be sturdy, moving parts firmly attached and approved for safety. Each exhibit must be self-supporting. Electricity (AC 110 volts, 60 cycles) will be supplied; but no gas, water or phone outlets will be provided. Switches and cords must be of an approved variety and circuits protected by fuses. Further information can be found on the “Safety Rules and Regulations” page. Please do not request electricity for a laptop.
